You should have a look at ioffer, they are not bad but a good site to browse around.

Dodgy
I like ebay because it has been there for a long time, at the beginning ebay was decent. Now ebay keep charging more and more fees. I hate it and they keep removing my listing and still charge me. I hate the final fee 12% is way to high. On top of that they force everyone to have paypal therefore paypal charge you 3% of the transaction as well. Honestly I like google checkout because the fee aren't too high. Plus I like ebid better and I know in the long run they will outrun ebay. Come on we all are trying to make a living. Hey all, everyone should strike from ebay until they make a change. You know I believe anyone can make a difference, stop making ebay rich. The founder of ebay just getting richer and richer. If you have ideas to better your auction site than ebay or ebid than do it. One day you will become and multi-billionaire. Here is the thing, I own my own retail store located in Oklahoma, but some stuff I sell keeps getting remove. I'm so tired of it. I own a DVD and book store. Anyway, if you want your stuff to sell I prefer just owning your own website and advertise on youtube for free. Youtube, Myspace, Facebook, and twitter is where all the traffic is at you can so advertise there.

RE: ebay vs ebid
Used to sell on ebid a few years ago but found it was pretty much a waste of time. Have just checked out ebids new look - the site definately looks better than it did, however it doesn't look like there is a great deal of activity. Found a trader on ebid who had only received one feedback in the last year, but who I know sells a great deal on ebay, so this speaks volumes. Not to say that other people may be making significant sales on ebid but as far as we are concerned ebay is the place to be. The volume of sales generated on ebay is far greater and there doesn't seem to be any viable alternative at this time. Because ebay have no serious competitors, they can practically charge what they like. It does seem like a case of like it or lump it!

I have to agree ebid is a waste of time, ebay if far more expensive to sell on but well worth it
