Directory Submissions

Do anybody know how SEO companies are able to create so many submissions to directories.

I have been getting a quote for a couple of companies to do some SEOfor a few of my websites and some of them say that they will create 3000 directory submissions a month this seems a lot.

RE: Directory Submissions
To have an effective directory submission, you should provide good list of directory sites with good PR and you should submit relevant directories with relevant keywords.

I think some have an automated system that does submissions on bulk, however 3000 a month seems allot, and how many months would this be for

RE: Directory Submissions
Directories are good but with an average of 30% acceptance and listing it is a lot of hard work to get a little out! I have been told in the past about not having too many submissions over a small amount of time as google will penalise you for it..

I don't know anybody penalised for this. Google wouldn't list directories if they were so wrong I suppose.
